Souvenir inkwell – the head of an Indian wearing a feather bonnet. They are hand-painted and made from pot metal.  The hinged feathers are the inkwell lid. These were sometimes sold at tourist destinations with the location written across the headdress. The two pictured are marked “Coney Island” and Brantingham Lake NY. Also seen as a location: Rouses Point NY. These are similar but smaller and of lessor quality than painted polychrome souvenir inkwells with a cast metal emblem attached. These are marked “Germany” on the lower back.

Estimated value: $100 each
