This white metal inkstand with a Neoclassical flair has a bronze finish.
Central Figure: The focal point is a gentleman figure, seated on a small chair. He is depicted in period costume, a frock coat with ruffled cuffs, a waistcoat, and breeches and stockings, consistent with late 18th or early 19th-century European fashion. His head is adorned with a tricorn hat, characteristic of the era. In his hands, he holds a pen (or quill) in one hand and a tablet in the other.
Inkwells: Flanking the central figure are two clear glass inkwells, one on each side. These inkwells are faceted. Their hinged lids are made from the same white metal as the base and are adorned with floral decorations.
Pen Tray: Between the two glass inkwells, in front of the seated gentleman, there is an elongated, shallow depression. This serves as the pen tray.
Base and Ornamentation: The entire assembly rests on an ornate, shaped base. The base itself is decorative, featuring scrolled feet and rocaille-style curves and flourishes. On the front of the base, there is a classical face or mask.
