Unusual solid silver mounted bull’s hoof which has been converted to an inkwell with an original blue glass insert. Horse hooves were commonly converted into inkwells in Victorian & Edwardian times, but bulls’ hooves are much rarer. Both upper silver fittings are hallmarked for London 1908 by Robert Pringle & Sons. The silver stand fitted to the base is silverplated.
