William Cripps (London) designed and made this sterling silver inkwell, displayed on a turned wood base. The inkwell is circular with a hinged lid. It features full hallmarks indicating it was assayed in London in 1903, with the lion passant mark signifying sterling silver. The hinged lid also has a partial hallmark. The base of the inkwell is adorned with twelve evenly spaced floral motifs. These embossed flowers have petal-like designs radiating outward.
