An inkwell with a heavy diamond cut glass body is fitted with a hinged sterling silver lid which holds a removable pocket watch with Swiss mechanisms. The inkwell is hallmarked for John Grinsell & Sons, dating 1911. The watch maker is William Henry Sparrow.
