Atop the cover of this bronze inkwell, there’s a detailed figure of a satyr, a mythological creature known for its mischievous nature, depicted with human and goat-like features. The body of the inkwell is adorned with intricate decorations, including Harpies, which are mythological creatures with the body of a bird and the face of a woman, symbolizing wind spirits. Additionally, there are mascarons, which are decorative elements resembling faces or masks, commonly used in classical architecture and decorative arts and festoons. The inkwell rests on three paw feet.
