This Russian silver inkstand features a rectangular silver footed tray adorned with intricate engravings and a decorative border. The base is embellished with ornate floral patterns. Positioned symmetrically on either side of the base are two crystal glass inkwells with silver lids. Between the inkwells, there is a decorative silver pen holder. Both the tray and the inkwells bear Russian hallmarks. The maker is “H.T.”

The tray is engraved with inscriptions:

  • “ПАМЯТИ ВЕЛИКОГО ВЛАДИМИРА” (In memory of the great Vladimir)
  • “ГРАФА ЛЕВА ТОЛСТОГО” (Count Leo Tolstoy)
  • “1901 ГОДА” (1901 year)
  • “ПРЕЗЕНТ ОТ ПРИЯТЕЛЕЙ” (A present from friends)

This inscription indicates that the inkstand is a commemorative piece dedicated to the great writer Leo Tolstoy, given as a gift in 1901.
