Russian Cloisonné Enamel and Brass Inkstand

This inkstand features intricate cloisonné enamel work, which involves applying colored enamel separated by thin metal strips to create detailed patterns. The inkstand is rectangular in shape and stands on baluster shaped feet. The upper surface and sides are enameled with stylized flowerheads in vibrant yellow, green, blue, and white enamel. The inkstand has a drawer opening at one end. The ink containers seen on this piece are not original. The last picture shows the lids which would have been seen on the original piece. There are five pen holes in the center of the inkstand.
