This porcelain inkwell is marked “RS Prussia” on the bottom, indicating it was made by the Reinhold Schlegelmilch porcelain factory in Germany, known for their high-quality porcelain items from the late 19th to early 20th century. The inkwell features a hexagonal base and a rounded lid, with delicate hand-painted floral designs that resemble lilies of the valley. The penciled inscription on the underside, “E.H. Ficklin, January 16, 1897,” likely refers to a previous owner and adds a personal historical touch to the piece.
