A hand-hammered inkwell made by Roycroft features a flared square base with stitched linework and a separate lid with knob finial. The dark brown color is the “Aurora brown” finish, which involved chemically patinating the copper a darker color using ammonia fumes. This piece is unsigned Roycroft.
