This sterling silver inkwell features an enamel badge mounted on the lid, depicting the emblem of the Coventry & Warwickshire Motor Club – Royal Automobile Club Associate. The front of the inkwell is engraved with the dates 1904 – 1914, marking a decade of the club’s existence. The silver hallmarks indicate that this inkwell is sterling silver, made in Chester, England in 1913.

The Coventry & Warwickshire Motor Club was established in 1904 and became an associate of the prestigious Royal Automobile Club (RAC), founded in 1897. The RAC is a British private social and athletic club, known for its advocacy for motorists and its establishment of the RAC Limited, a roadside assistance service.
