This bronze inkstand by Peter Tereszczuk depicts a laborer and a woman in a moment of rest and care. The laborer is seated, holding a scythe in one hand, while the woman kneels beside him, offering him a drink from a jug. The figures are detailed and expressive, capturing a tender scene of respite.
Peter Tereszczuk was an Austrian-Ukrainian sculptor known for his bronze Art Nouveau figurines. He created most of his works between 1895 and 1925 in Vienna. His pieces often combine functionality with artistic storytelling, as seen in this inkstand.
