Shaped as a lady in a strapless gown with a long bell-shaped skirt, the top half lifts off to access the inkwell. The gown is painted with a tangerine luster color glaze and is accented with blue and gold flowers. Her hands are demurely clasped in front of her. Her facial features are exceptionally rendered. The green “M” in the wreath mark is on the base, with “Noritake” above it and “Hand Painted” “Made in Japan” below it.
