Two versions of this inkstand are pictured.
This Conta Boehme inkstand features a charming scene of a mother, dressed in a bonnet and a floral-patterned dress, painting on an open book or canvas. Standing next to her is her daughter, attentively observing the painting. In the front, another child sits on a stool holding what appears to be an accordion file or toy. A dog lies contentedly at her feet. To the side is a stack of books with an open receptacle, possibly a pen holder. The top half of the scene lifts off to access the inkwell and sander within.

Example #2 sold for $150 in November 2020.
