An early inkstand by Minton Pottery. Founded in 1793 by Thomas Minton in Stoke-on-Trent, England, Minton Pottery quickly became synonymous with excellence in ceramics. In its early years, Minton gained royal patronage for its hand-painted porcelain and bone china.  This inkstand with the Minton mark in pattern #780 dates to around 1810. This inkstand has an inkwell, a pounce pot, a wafer pot, and a candle holder with a handle. The exterior is adorned with vibrant floral patterns, with gilded edges.
