This is a hand-painted figural inkwell made of pot metal in the form of a seated man smoking a pipe and wearing a fez.
- Functionality as an Inkwell: The waist is hinged. The upper torso of the figure lifts, revealing a clear glass inkwell insert.
- Figure: The figure is of a man seated with his legs tucked beneath him with a gesturing pose.
- Facial Features and Expression: He has a dark complexion, pronounced facial features, and a wide-open mouth, revealing red lips and teeth. His expression is lively, suggesting he is speaking.
- Attire: He wears a loose, flowing tunic or robe, painted in a cream color, and an orange-red fez on his head, from which a dark braid extends.
