This “Mermaid Rising” bronze inkstand by Louis Chalon features a mermaid emerging from the water, with her tail forming the base and her upper body extending upwards in a dynamic pose. Her right arm is raised high above her head, while her left arm rests along her body. The tail and lower part of her body have a greenish patina, evoking the coloration of water or seaweed, while the upper part of her body has a golden hue. The base of the inkstand resembles swirling water. The piece is signed by Louis Chalon (1866-1940).
