Made of white Meissen porcelain, the tray’s edges are scalloped and gilded. The surface is adorned with colorful and detailed renderings of birds and insects. The inkwell and sander are round, scalloped shaped pots with similar bird decorations as the tray. Such detail – even on the inkwell’s small lid, and between the holes on the sander, there are tiny renderings of birds / insects. Blue underglaze crossed swords with pommels mark for the Royal Manufactory Meissen.
