A man holding a paint brush is seated, facing a painting easel with canvas. He is dressed in 18th century attire with a wig, long jacket, and breeches. A woman, dress in a gown with a fitted bodice and a full skirt, stands behind him. The figures stand on an oval base. This upper portion lifts allowing access to two inkwells. The figures and the base are all hand-painted with polychrome enamels.
