An English majolica pottery inkwell modeled as a frog. The frog stands on an oval shaped base which could represent the ground or a lily pad. Three feet rest on the ground while the fourth holds the stem of a large white and pink lily flower which rests on its back (and contains the inkwell). The hand painted colors are vibrant – predominantly yellow with brown accents. The underside of the inkwell bears the English registry mark “RD 171772,” registered in England in 1891.
