Louis XV Inkstand with Candleholder

This is an original pre-Revolutionary French Louis XV (Louis Quinze) Encrier Bougeoir ( Inkstand with Candleholder), dating to c.1750. It is complete with its original candleholder, shelf-form carrying handle, holes for dip-pens, inkwell and a pounce for holding blotting sand. It is executed in high Rococo style and is formed of hand cut rosewood veneer on a quartersawn oak body on four feet.
