This Limousin enamel inkstand features an oval shaped front with pen holder and channel in front of an urn-shaped inkwell with hinged lid. The artwork on the inkstand is known as Limousin enamel. The term “Limousin” refers both to the historical region in France and the specific enamel on copper technique. Four hoof-feet support the inkstand.
