A woman’s head in profile serves as the lid for this inkwell. The lid, set in the base with a peg, swivels open or closed. The woman wears a period bonnet tied under her chin. Her flowing hair continues down her neck onto the base. Made of bronzed cast iron, the four-legged tray is shaped like a four-leaf clover. The Judd company also made a matching desk clip (numbered 5241 on the underside).
