Friedrich Gornik (1877-1943) was an Austrian Sculptor who was known for making utilitarian items such as match-safes and inkwells. This large Friedrich Gornik Bronze Inkstand depicts two hard working men pulling a rope to move a large boulder from a field. With a long pen rest this inkwell is signed along the bottom edge, “F. Gornik” and a foundry mark “AR.”
