Iridescent green glass inkwell made by Wilhelm Kralik Söhne, a renowned Bohemian glasswork founded in 1815. The swirling pattern on the glass creates an optical illusion of depth and movement. This design of concentric rings and wavy lines is often associated with “Spiraloptisch,” known for its spiraling designs that appear to change when viewed from different angles.
The brass leaf-shaped lid is marked: O.E.P. (Österreiches Patent) followed by 10385 and D.R.G.M. (Deutches Reich Gebrauchsmuster/ German Reich Registered Design) followed by 168180.
