The pressed glass inkwell is held in a bronzed cast iron inkstand. The lid is attached to a bar on the frame and lifts upright when in use. On top is a pen rack that can hold three pens. The backstop has an engraved star and spade design. The rounded corners have a daisy impression. On the bottom, the piece is marked Pat. Date November 25, 1879.
This inkstand was sold in a “single” inkwell version, and a “double”.
