The marble base has a green and black marbled pattern.
The script on the inkstand reads “Marengo Wagram Austerlitz,” which refers to three significant battles won by Napoleon:
- Battle of Marengo (1800): A decisive victory against the Austrian army in Italy.
- Battle of Wagram (1809): A major battle against the Austrian Empire near Vienna.
- Battle of Austerlitz (1805): Also known as the Battle of the Three Emperors, it was one of Napoleon’s greatest victories, defeating the Russian and Austrian armies.
