This unique inkwell is fashioned from a horse’s hoof. The hoof is mounted with a metal band that features an engraved inscription. The inscription reads:
“A.M.N I C O L – FROM A FEW COLLEAGUES ON The Daily Chronicle 12th March 1912”.
The inkwell has a decorative metal lid with a finial. This item was likely given as a commemorative gift, possibly to someone with the initials A.M.N, from their colleagues at The Daily Chronicle. The bottom is marked “R&B” (Robbe & Berking) and is numbered “5189”.
