This French inkwell from the late 19th century, made of doré bronze, is shaped as a grand piano. Its cover is decorated with a floral scroll motif. When pressed, a button on a side accent panel allows the cover to be opened, revealing a pen rest area and a cobalt blue glass inkwell. The piano keyboard cover may be folded down, revealing an area for storage of pen nibs. The piano body is supported by three sturdy legs on wheels that spin. A foot pedal is visible under the piano, as well.
