A large crystal inkwell with a deep button pattern cut into the underside is held in a sterling silver encasement. The silver holder is marked “Sterling” and bears a Gorham Silver mark indicating 1896 as the year of production. The inkwell holder is made of intricate scroll work and has a blank cartouche on the front for a monogram.
