Well-cast and detailed enameled cast iron figural inkstand in the shape of a Godin woodburning stove with lattice design. On the front it reads “GODIN” and “CHAUFFETTE” (small stove) on the hinged inkwell cover. The stove is stamped “15” on the base and inside the hinged lid.

This was an advertising piece for Godin. Godin Chauffage (heating) was founded in 1840 by Jean Baptiste Andre Godin, an industry pioneer in high quality French cast iron stoves.

Sold for $133 in August 2023
