This inkwell is etched “sterling silver 2377” along the rim of the silver overlay. There is also a mark on the side of the inkwell within the openwork design that reads “Solid Silver Pat. Jan 5, 83”. The hinged cover has a sterling repousse floral design and is not monogrammed. The silver openwork depicts leafy scrollwork with hand-etched detailing and a vignette on the side that has also not been monogrammed.
