This French gilt metal inkstand showcases a cherub, also known as a putto, standing gracefully on a book. The cherub holds a bird in one hand and a laurel garland in the other, symbolizing victory and honor. The inkstand includes two glass inkwells with stemmed bottoms that fit securely into the stand. Each inkwell features a hinged lid adorned with intricate foliated decorations. The base of the inkstand is ornately designed with intricate details and a gold finish.
