- Base and Mirrored Surface: The inkstand is built on a shallow oval base with a reflective mirrored surface. The entire base and frame are crafted from gilt bronze.
- Ornate Frame: The gilt bronze frame is decorated with an ornate, scrolling design that is characteristic of the late 19th-century Rococo Revival style. The inkstand is supported by four detailed lion paw feet.
- Double Inkwells: The stand holds two matching etched cut-glass inkwells, one on each side of the central part of the base. The glass is clear and features faceted cuts. Each inkwell has a hinged lid made of gilt bronze, topped with a small, decorative finial.
