George Ohr pottery inkwell with Federal shield and heart motifs, Stamped “GEO E OHR / BILOXI MISS”, circa 1895-1900, green-glazed inkwell with crumpled and dimpled form, seated atop a blue-glazed, slab base with coggled edge, featuring rare incised designs of a Federal shield with impressed stars, a heart flanked by impressed stars, and a ribbon. An outstanding example of Ohr’s creative genius, combining his distinctive, contorted vessel style with outstanding incised decoration.
