A toleware inkstand with a hand painted scene in the central tray. One depicts an Asian figure with an umbrella. The second is painted with an Asian figure playing badminton. The third is painted with a cartouche representing a cottage and a tower on the banks of a river. The fourth features an Asian figure holding a basket of flowers. The fifth pictures two Asian men.
Each inkstand has a bronze galleried edge with attached pen hooks in the form of leaves set on fruit form feet. The inkwells have hinged lids with either leaf or flower finials.
Asian with umbrella: sold for $125 in August 2022
Asian playing badminton: sold for $438 in June 2022
Cottage and tower: estimated value of $300 to $400
