This French porcelain and bronze inkwell features a porcelain urn-shaped inkwell with a hinged bronze lid with berry knob finial. The body of the inkwell is adorned with vignettes of miniature painting depicting a neoclassical woman, reclined with a book under her arm, and holding a lyre. Cupid hovers with an arrow in hand. Gold gilt acanthus leaf scrolls accent the sides of the vignettes.
