This marble and gilt bronze inkstand features a central female figure seated on a raised platform, crafted from gilt bronze. She is depicted in a contemplative pose, with one hand resting on her chin and the other on her lap, and dressed in flowing robes. The base of the inkstand is made of green marble with a star-shaped design, and it includes two lidded inkwells, also made of gilt bronze, positioned symmetrically on either side of the woman. The inkwells have ornate lids with finial tops.
