Cloisonné is an ancient technique for decorating metalwork objects. The process involves creating compartments (cloisons) on the metal object by soldering thin metal strips or wires to the surface. These compartments are then filled with enamel paste, which is made from powdered glass. The object is fired in a kiln, causing the enamel to melt and fuse. After cooling, the surface is polished to reveal the vibrant colors and intricate patterns. This technique results in a durable and visually striking decorative piece.
