This gilt bronze inkstand features a farming couple walking together. He carries a scythe in one hand, his other arm is around her shoulder. The woman carries a water jug. The couple stands between two inkwells with hinged covers. This Social Realist bronze inkwell with a large pen tray is signed on the back “Pohl”. Adolph Joseph Pohl was an Austrian artist and bronze sculptor lived from 1872 to 1930.
