The underside of this inkstand is marked “G.R. Elkington, registered, 2 Victoria Chap 17. No. 899, Nov 1 1841”. The cast silverplate base with a leaf and scroll design has a handle on one side, a pen holder on the other. The stemmed cobalt blue inkwells are multifaceted and have unattached lids with a fruit design.
