This brass inkstand was designed to resemble a Galleon ship from the Elizabethan era (1558-1603). The back of the ship features an inscription that reads “A Galleon in the Time of Elizabeth 1558-1603 England” along with a registration number #702168. The ship is mounted on a base that represents a port, which includes a section with a knob attached to a chain. Lifting this knob reveals the inkwell compartment, although the insert for the inkwell is missing. The registration number would indicate that it was produced around 1923.
