This double inkstand on a wooden base with a pewter railing consists of two glass inkwells with pewter lids, placed side by side on a polished wooden base with a curved design. The base has a carved groove to hold dip pens. The pewter railing surrounds the inkwells and is supported by four posts, one at each corner of the base. The inkwells have decorative metal brackets to hold them in place.
