A hand-painted 19th Century porcelain inkstand with the large figure of a brown and white dog. The dog has a wide collar with gilt buckle and carries a piece of meat in his mouth. He stands on a grassy base next to a pool of water. Behind him is a tree stump. In front is a sander and an inkwell with a detached lid.
