Pierre Adrien DALPAYRAT (1844-1910)
This is a superb and rare high fired pottery inkwell from one of the masters of French pottery of the late 19th century. Dalpayrat was among the greatest experimenters in complex glaze techniques and his pottery at Bourg-La-Reine produced work that was sold at La Maison Moderne in Paris and won medals at The Paris Salons. This piece has a wonderful range of color variation and is signed and numbered.
Sold for $1378 in April 2023
