A wheel-cut inkwell with leafy branches framed by a double line ending in tiny scrolls at each of the corners. The bottom is wedge-cut with a starburst and the bottom corners have been beveled to prevent chipping.
The lid is enameled in blue guilloche and features a detailed Victorian basket of flowers topped by a flowing ribbon. This is framed by an outer wreath of roses with circles of white enamel inlay separating the sections.
There is a single hallmark on the neck: a right-facing Minerva in a cut-cornered square (the French Silver Guarantee hallmark), indicating .950 sterling.
