A silver-plated inkstand with a curling design from the Dunrobin Castle in Scotland, home of the Earl and Countess of Sutherland and the Clan Sutherland. Positioned at each corner of the base are four curling brooms, their handles extending toward the center to form a pen holder. In the middle is a curling stone which houses the inkwell. The inscription of the inkstand reads: “Presented to the Duchess of Sutherland at opening of Gotspie Curling Club Bazaar; 15th Sept 1911”.
