Copper Rocker Blotter

Description:

• Material & Finish: The piece is a classic rocker blotter made of copper with a rich, dark patinated background that emphasizes its relief designs.
• Design & Style: It features stylized, organic flowing lines and abstract “whiplash” curves characteristic of the Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) movement. The side panels of the rocker show matching low-relief scrollwork.
• Handle & Knob Assembly: A long, slender, arched handle spans across the top plate. At each end, the handle splits into two distinct organic “roots” or feet that anchor into circular corner pads. In the exact center of the top plate sits a distinct four-lobed, cross-shaped knob. This knob unscrews to release the top plate from the curved wooden rocker base underneath so that the blotting material can be replaced.
• Underside: The bottom consists of a curved rocking surface covered in yellow/cream blotting material.
