A cartoonish man wearing a tam o’shanter cap and holding a pipe has the look of a Scot or Irishman. There is a pen hole in the top of his cap. Marked “Germany” and “8250”.
This inkwell is one of a series – cartoonish characters with bulbous bottoms and lift off top to reveal the ink pot. The head (top) has a hole to hold a pen. All were made in Germany.
