This inkstand features a cold-painted metal figurine of a person dressed in traditional Asian attire, including a conical hat and loose-fitting garments. This figure, often referred to as a “coolie,” is depicted standing next to a clear glass inkwell. The figurine holds a tool or stick, and both the figurine and the inkwell are placed on a textured base that resembles a straw mat.
